2011: 32 progressive parties agree to present common candidates

Thirty-two progressive political parties in Nigeria, under the auspices of  Patritotic Electoral Alliance of Nigeria (PEAN), have agreed to present common candidates at all levels at the forthcoming general election in Nigeria.
These parties include; Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN); All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP); Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Labour Party(LP); All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA); Alliance for Democracy (AD), among others.
The decision was taken at a party leaders parley attended by Alhaji Lateef  Jakande; Chief Olu Falae; Mallam Nasir El Rufai; Chief Rasheed Shita-Bey; Prof Pat Utomi; Chief A.C.Nwodo; Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim (former governor of Yobe State); Honourable Muhammad Ali Ndume (Minority Leader of  House of Representatives) Mr Buba Galadima; Alhaji Mujahid Dokunbo-Asari; Cheif Olawale Okunniyi; Chief Udemba JBC, Mr Femi Falana, among others.
The meeting, which was held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotels,  Abuja, further resolved that all progressive political parties  in the country should, within credible and democratic culture, work together to ensure credible elections and good governance in Nigeria.
The alliance will work together for the formation of  popular government in all the three tiers of governments. The meeting resolved to meet to ratify and further understanding on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in Abuja.
