PPP report: Reps give NDDC ultimatum

PPP report: Reps give NDDC ultimatum

The House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement has given the management of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) up to November 11 to submit   the Public Procurement Performance  (PPP) report for the 2008 and 2009 year ended, as requested by the law.
This was contained in a statement signed and sent to the media by clerk to the National Assembly, Emenalo Boniface, on Thursday.
The directive was part of the resolution reached by the committee at its meeting  on Thursday, following the non- appearance of the management of NDDC at the scheduled meeting.
The committee, relying on Chapter V, section 62(1), Section 88 (1a, bi,ii)(2a-b) and 89 (1a,b,c), invited the management to a meeting to find out why it had failed to respond to letters written to it on July 14 and October 8, 2010 to submit reports of its procurement performance, following complaints from stakeholders which the NDDC management did not reply nor send any representatives to the meeting.
