Firm files contempt charge against Spring Bank, MD

By Innocent Anaba
Chief Kola Daisi and his company, National Sport Lottery Plc, NSL, have  initiated a contempt proceeding against the Managing Director of Spring Bank, Mrs. Olushola Ayodele and the bank, before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos,  for alleged contemptuous publication they cause to be published in connection with a suit before the court.
The applicants also want the court to restrain Mrs. Ayodele and the bank from committing further acts of contempt by publishing, by any means and in any manner whatsoever, matters prejudicial to the trial of the suit, or pre-empting the decision of the court.
Trial judge in the matter is Justice Okechukwu Okeke.
Spring Bank Plc had dragged the businessman and his company before the court in 2009, urging the court to help it recover a loan of N5.6 billion it granted them in addition to other reliefs.
But in a counter claim filed by Daisi and NLS, they insisted that they did not owe the bank any money that rather it was the bank that owes them the sum of N4.8 billion.
