According to the state Commissioner of Police, Mallam Abdullahi Magaji, the abductors of Lulu’s mother were from Anambra and Enugu states.
He gave their names as Nnamdi Okafor, who is the ring leader; Paul Oretueze; Chinedu Okoye; Sunday Nwachukwu; Ezeagwu Chukwuka and Lawrence Okebua.
Contrary to initial impression that no ransom was paid for the release of the old woman, the suspects were said to have collected N4.5 million as ransom.
The suspects were said to have confessed that two close relations of the Lulu family from Idah in Kogi State, now at large, had contacted them in Enugu about the media report which alleged the stupendous wealth of the erstwhile NFF president and invited them to get their own shares.
