Ex-DIG tasks Jonathan on provision of power, security

Former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Zone 2, Deacon Adedayo Adeoye, has charged President Goodluck Jonathan on the provision of electricity, security and ensuring free and fair elections in 2011.
The former police chief was the guest of honour at the inauguration of a police post donated by a blind cleric, Prophet Moses Muyideen Kasali, founder of the Hour of Mercy Ministry in Ibadan, on Thursday.
According to him, if the Federal Government could ensure the provision of these three basic amenities before the end of 2011, there would be employment generation for all the school leavers and graduates in the country.
While noting that over 70 per cent of Nigerians were unemployed, he said if the president could provide employment for these people, his name would go down in history as one of the best leaders the country had ever had.
He said there was no doubt that without security, there would be no meaningful development. The former police boss said the provision of adequate security would not only ensure development but also attract investors into the country.
He said the conduct of general election devoid of thuggery, rigging and assassination would make the country one of the best in the world.
