Again, 4-yr-old boy hangs self in Ondo •Police arrest 8 over incident

The people of Odojomo area of Ondo town, Ondo State, were thrown into mourning on Wednesday as they woke up to discover the body of a four-year-old boy hanging by the window of a house on the street.
The boy, Akin Akinola was alleged to have hung himself with a rope in a one-room apartment that the family lived in.
However, men of the Ondo State Police Command had arrested eight people in connection with the incident.
It was gathered that the residents of the house located at 21, Olafemiwa Street, Odojomo, discovered the body of the boy hanging by the burglary proof of the window of the room at about 8.30 am .
The Nigerian Tribune learnt that the mother of the boy, who lost her husband about two years ago, had gone to Igba market in Ondo early in the morning to buy fruits to sell on the campus of the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo.
The boy was said to have been seen some minutes before the incident as he went out to buy a sachet of milk from her step-mother’s shop in the compound.
However, some minutes after the boy had entered his mother’s room, some of the residents of the building rushed out shouting as they were said to have discovered the body of the boy by the window side.
Further investigation by the Nigerian Tribune revealed that most of the occupants of the house were married Igbo traders who had been staying in the house for some years now and it was also gathered that the mother had left her children with a lady, who said she did not know when the child went inside the room.
However, the mother of the boy, Mrs. Nike Akinola, told newsmen that she left home very early on Wednesday morning to a market at Igba town but stressed that before she left she gave her children N10 each to buy whatever they wanted in the morning.
