IGP hints of more promotion in police

As the Nigerian police progresses with its reform aimed at repositioning the force for more efficient delivery, officers and men are to  be motivated through more promotions on the way.
The Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, who dropped the hint on Thursday while decorating the newly-promoted Assistant Inspector General (AIGs), said this was a way of getting the best out of them.
According to him, certain number of policemen have been slated for promotions before the end of the year, adding that the police service commission is doing its best to ensure that those who merited it are given.
The IGP said that the conditions attached to the promotions most be met by officers and men by ensuring that they attended all necessary courses attached to such promotions.
Those decorated with their new ranks of AIG are Aloysius Okorie, Commissioner of Police, Imo State, Christopher Ola; Abubakar Muhammed; Ibrahim Ahmed; Saidu Daya; Bukar MainaDanlami Yar’adua.
Others are Atiku Kafur; Mohammed Abbas; Shehu  Babalola; Dax Madueke Uzu and Charles Cole.
