yoboSUPER Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, is excited at the withdrawal of the suit by the National Association of Nigerian Footballers (NANF) against the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), saying it is a step towards moving Nigerian football forward.

The Fernabache defender, who spoke from his base in Turkey on Monday, declared that he was not interested in the politics of the game but the continued existence of football in the country.

He said was therefore happy that the controversy has been settled finally and football in Nigeria would now go on as expected.

“In as much as I am a football player whose duty is to play for the country and I am not an administrator who plays the football politics, I am very happy that football family is back together in the interest of the game in the country,” Yobo told MTNFootball.com.

“What we as players want has happened because it is in unity and very conducive atmosphere that Nigerian football can continue to wax stronger. The players are ready to contribute their own with the strong backing of the administrators and soccer-loving Nigerians.

“I am very confident that Nigerian football will reach its desire height with everyone coming together to make his own positive contribution.”
